Description

FindLaw is the grown-up start-up. Starting in Silicon Valley, home of innovators, creators, and crazies, where everyone wants to do the start-up, FindLaw got bought, done good, grew up. Now we need to do more of what we do, bring free legal information to everyone and connect people to attorneys that can help them with their legal problems. We are the biggest and best in our space, but we want more, and we need you to help. Here’s how:

Our new Principal Architect will be the front person for technology strategy and architecture across the FindLaw business. In this job, you will work with FindLaw business leaders, Findlaw’s CTO and across boundaries of both the FindLaw and Legal business to understand current and future technology needs, market trends, and development approaches. Your work will directly fuel growth in thousands of businesses across the nation by driving results for our law firm customers.

A great principal architect will advocate for the business every day by identifying industry trends and emerging technologies of interest, streamlining development best practices by leveraging agile methodologies, and sun setting legacy systems for better more flexible capabilities. In other words, you will work to remove the obstacles that slow anything and everything down.

In this critical role, you will need a broad understanding of technology and will be able to draw upon deep development experience to inform your approach. As a leader, you will demonstrate expressive oral and written communication skills and possess strong partnering skills. You need to explain complex technology to all audiences, from engineers to marketers (and you’ll work with a lot of them).

FindLaw helps people, consumers like you and me, when we aren’t wearing our engineering hats. By helping people find legal help, FindLaw is serving the business development needs of solo and small law firms. Being able to adjust quickly to market needs using both tried and innovative technologies is proven to be the path to success.
